Trekking in Kanchenjunga Region
ImagePassing through the remote and unspoiled far eastern part of Nepal, this classic trek to Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world, provides an incredible variety of scenery and cultural diversity. Starting from the low lands of Eastern Nepal, the route passes through cultivated farmland and villages and leads along rivers and across picturesque landscapes. Higher up, Tibetan villages with wooden houses, prayer flags and mani stones are encountered. Throughout the trek you will be greeted with stunning views of the Himalaya including Jannu, Cho Oyu, Pang Pema and Kanchenjunga. This is one of the most beautiful treks in the Himalaya.

Pathibhara Cultural Trek (5 Days)

Day 01: Kathmandu/Suketar/Deurali
Fly from Kathmandu to Suketar and trek to Deurali, 2 hours soft trek with beautiful sceneries. Overnight in lodge/teashops at Deurali
Day 02: Deurali/Phedi
Trek to Phedi, 4-5 hours trekking with bird watching & mountain views. Overnight in a teashop
Day 03: Phedi/Pathibhara/Phedi
Trek to Pathibhara Temple, 3 hours trekking with a panoramic mountain views from Pathibhara. Homage to Pathibhara Devi (the legendary goddess) Temple and trek back to Phedi, 2 hours trek. Overnight in Phedi in a teashop
Day 04: Phedi/Suketar
Trek down to Suketar, 4-5 hours trekking with an observation of local monasteries, lifestyle & surroundings. Overnight in a lodge/hotel
Day 05: Suketar/Kathmandu
Fly back to Kathamandu and transfer to hotel

Trek to Tortong, 4-5 hours trekking with a panoramic mountain view of Kanchenjunga range. Overnight in a lodge/teashop
Day 04: Tortong/Ghunsa
Trek to Ghunsa (4500mt), 5-6 hours trekking with close Mountain View of Kanchanjunga. Overnight in a lodge/teashops
Day 05: Ghunsa/Lhonak
Trek to Lhonak (5100mt), the highest trek point of this trek, 5-6 hours trek. Overnight in a lodge
Day 06: Lhonak/Base Camp/Lhonak
Trek to Kanchenjunga Base Camp, 2-3 hours trek and back to Lhonak for overnight stay. Overnight in lodge
Day 07: Lhonak/Ghunsa
Trek back to Ghunsa and overnight in lodge
Day 08: Ghunsa/Khewang
Trek down to Khewang a traditional Limbu village and overnight in lodge/teashops
Day 09: Khewang/Suketar
Trek back to Suketar and overnight in lodge/hotel
Day 10: Suketar/Kathmandu
Fly back to Kathmandu, airport pick-up & transfer to hotel in Kathmandu city.
