River Explorations (White Water Rafting) |
Rafting along the Kali Gandaki River Nepal's soaring mountains give way to a number of torrential rivers; the run-off from these mountains provides the water that not only creates a variety of different white water experiences, but also is the source of the hydro-electric power that fuels that country. Today Nepal is one of the most popular tourist destinations for both easy going travellers and adventure enthusiasts. Nepal provides activities as diverse as mountaineering, White Water Rafting, and trekking & jungle activities. White Water Rafting in Nepal is the second popular tourist endeavour. Rafting is a good opportunity not only to have an adrenaline-packed adventure, but is also a way to explore Nepal’s vivid ethno-cultural heritage. The northern part of Nepal is confined by the ever snow-capped mountains – Mt. Everest, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu and numerous other peaks. The melting snows of these mountains provide Nepal with its water resources and also make it possibly the best country in the world for White Water Rafting and Kayaking. Many raft enthusiasts who have already explored the major rivers of the world say the rivers of Nepal provide a combination of thrill, challenge and cultural experience not found anywhere else. |
